I do not want to pay for cable or satellite because I do not watch that much regular TCL L40FHDF11TA TV, so I can not tell anyone how well it works or does not operate a third-party digtal cable / satellite boxes. I can say that a TCL L40FHDF11TA TV tuner inside get much better reception antenna connected to the same computer with the USB-TC-tuner. I’ve lost the ability to store things, but I’ve never used this feature as well. My Media PC in general can play a variety of sources instead of a movie to watch and record TV programs a lot. Blu-ray Disc, DVD, AVI, etc. everything works perfectly and looks good. I can say that any brand better TCL L40FHDF11TA TV picture quality, but it looks pretty damn good $ 400 shipped. I connected my homemade digital signal directly to the TV antenna and a USB TV tuner I have used initially.
